Holi was celebrated grandly at Jungle Home with my brother in law and his friends coming over from hyderabad to bandipur / mudumalai Everybody had a nice time including my kids but as usual I managed t stay out of the meele called holi and avoided being colored from top to bottom by holding my camrea as my shield. The annual ritual of closing mudumalai wildlife sanctuary was enacted once again. The sanctuary is closed to general visitors and tourists from March 1st to April 15th due to severe dry conditions and threat of forest fire. This has resulted in wild life lovers and wildlife tour operators going to Bandipur National park for tiger safari and elephant safari. Mudumalai being more popular than Bandipur attarcts a bigger crowd on weekends as Mudumalai / Bandipur is a ideal weeked getaway spot from bangalore with people prefering resots in masinagudi to resorts near bangalore. Inspite of the closure, our Jungle Home a private guest house is experiencing the usual weekend rush.
